Chattogram, 16 May - Shakib Al Hasan came up with some innovative idea yet again as he turned himself a Chinaman bowler on day two of the first cricket Test against Sri Lanka at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here today.

Chinaman is considered to be a leg-spin delivery by a left-arm bowler. While an orthodox leg-spin delivery turns away from a right-handed batsman, a Chinaman delivery brings the ball back to the right-handed batsman.

Shakib ended up with 3-60 to complement Nayeem Hasan's career-best 6-105 as Sri Lanka were bowed out for 397 in their first innings.

However, Shakib was seen bowling Chinaman for quite some times on day two even though he didn't get wicket in those deliveries.

During 111 overs of the, it came to the notice of all when Dinesh Chandimal's expression was seen in the TV replay. Chandimal played four dot balls at a stretch but after playing the fifth dot ball, he was seen to tell something to his batting partner Angelo Mathews indicating Shakib's bowling.

Later, it was seen in the TV replay that Shakib was bowling leg-spin to Chandimal and that delivery turned big, baffling the batter. However, not only Shakib, some of the bowlers like India's Kuldeep Yadav, South Africa's Tabraiz Shamsi also bowled Chinaman.

Shakib was seen bowling chinaman once again against Asitha Fernando and Vishwa Fernando.

"We know Shakib is a very experienced campaigner. He just lands it on the spot, whatever he bowls. It was the first time that he bowled two chinaman deliveries. He was pretty accurate with that too. With his experience, he is coming out with some new things. He bowled extremely well," Sri Lanka batter Angelo Mathews said.
