12 held with diesel while smuggling to Myanmar

Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested 12 smugglers, including 8 Rohingya citizens from Patenga area in the city for attempting to smuggle diesel to Myanmar. 


Coast Guard seized gas cylinders and cash amount of Taka 6.24 lakh from their possession, said Sabbir Alam Sujan, Coast Guard Media Officer.

He said the drive was carried out based on secret information in the outer anchorage area of the Bay of Bengal under Patenga police station in Chattogram at 6 am on Saturday.
 
During the drive the mobile court searched a suspicious engine boat and seized 6,000 liters of diesel worth about Taka 6.24 lakh, six gas cylinders, cash Taka 15,896, and the boat used for smuggling, reports BSS. 

Additionally, 4 Bangladeshis and 8 Rohingya smugglers were arrested.
