Mother and daughter brutally tortured in Kalapara by neighbours on Saturday 8 August 2026.

Patuakhali: Mother Hawa Begum and her daughter Farzana Begum, an SSC examinee, were seriously injured in the brutal torture of their neighbors over a trivial incident. Farzana, a student of Champapur MU Secondary School, had her little finger on her left hand broken in the attack.

The attack took place on Saturday morning in Machuakhali village of Champapur Union in Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali. The injured were rescued after the incident and admitted to Kalapara Hospital for treatment.

According to the injured mother and daughter, when they asked why they called 11-year-old school student Rabiul evil, neighbors Jamal Hawlader, Sohel Hawlader, Nesa Begum, Khadija and Sukhi attacked them with sticks. The attackers threw Hawa Begum to the ground and beat her all over her body, injuring her. At that time, when his daughter Farzana heard her mother's cries she rushed to the spot. Then rival groups attacked her and broke a finger on her left hand.

The attacker Jamal Howlader's mobile phone was switched off, so his statement could not be obtained.
