Woman held with two pistols, ammunition in Bagha
The Detective Branch (DB) of the district police has recovered two pistols, three magazines and seven rounds of live ammunition during a raid at a residence in Bagha Upazila of the district.
A woman named Rozina Khatun, 36, has been arrested in connection with the incident. Another accused in the case, her husband Rubel Hossain, 44, son of Abdus Samad, is absconding.
A DB team, led by Inspector Mominul Hasan, conducted the operation in the early hours of today in the Alaipur Napitpara Mor area of the upazila.
Serajul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Bagha Police Station, said a search was conducted in the bedroom of Rozina Khatun's residence. During the search, two functional pistols, three rusted empty magazines and seven rounds of live ammunition kept under the bed were recovered.
A case has been filed against Rozina Khatun and her husband Rubel Hossain on charges of possessing illegal firearms, reports BSS.
The recovered arms and ammunition have been taken to the District DB office. The arrestee was sent to jail through the court today, police said.
