Dacoit gang leader among 8 held in Bhanga
Police arrested eight members of an inter-district gang of dacoits, including the gang leader, along with domestic weapons while they were preparing for a robbery in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district late Thursday night. They were produced before a court around 3pm on Friday following legal procedures.
The arrested individuals were identified as Sujon Matubbor,30, Delowar Khondokar alias Delu,40, Md. Mannan alias Mandar Kha,50, Md. Mirajul Sheikh alias Miraj,38, Md. Sohag Kazi, 27, Md. Rokib Khan alias Raju,34, Alamgir Molla,35, and Hridoy Khan,25. They hail from various districts, including Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj and Pirojpur.
Md. Mizanur Rahman, Bhanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), said a team led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Mamun Hawlader conducted a drive late Thursday night in the Madhya Para Hasamdia area under Ward No. 5 of Bhanga municipality based on secret information.
Police apprehended the suspects from a garden on the north side of a residential house while they were making preparations for a robbery and recovered several sharp weapons and burglary tools from their possession.
Police filed a case against the suspects for preparing to commit robbery, and they were produced before a court around 3pm Friday following legal procedures, reports UNB.
