Father, daughter stabbed to death in Munshiganj
A 40-year-old man and his minor daughter were stabbed to death by miscreants in Ramkrishnadi village of Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj district on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Golap Hossain, 40, and his six-year-old daughter, Tawba, residents of the upazila.
Alauddin Mia, Officer-in-Charge of Sirajdikhan Police Station, said a group of miscreants intercepted Golap and his daughter on Wednesday night while they were returning home after meeting a brick kiln worker.
At one stage, the miscreants stabbed Golap and his daughter indiscriminately, leaving Tawba dead on the spot and Golap injured.
Golap was later taken to a hospital in Keraniganj, where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday afternoon.
Police suspected that the miscreants might have carried out the attack over a land dispute, reports UNB.
Police also arrested a man and efforts were underway to arrest others involved in the killings, the OC said.
