Former UP member hacked dead in Narsingdi

A former union parishad (UP) member was chopped to death by miscreants at his business firm at Hajipur Kath Bazar in Narsingdi Sadar upazila on Wednesday.



A former union parishad (UP) member was chopped to death by miscreants at his business firm at Hajipur Kath Bazar in Narsingdi Sadar upazila on Wednesday (June 22) night.
The deceased was identified as Sujit Sutradhar, 56, former member (ward no 2) of Hajipur union parishad.
Some miscreants swooped on Sujit Sutradhar, his son Sujon Sutradhar and several more with sharp weapons at his business firm around 8:00 pm, leaving Sujit Sutradhar critically injured, said Saheb Ali Pathan, Narsingdi Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime).
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered Sujit Sutradhar. Later, Sujit Sutradhar was taken to Narsingdi Sadar hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
“We have visited the spot and are trying to find out the reason behind his killing. Hope criminals will be caught soon,” he said.
