Saudi returnee shot in Lakshmipur

A group of 8 to 10 masked people shot a youth, who recently returned home from Saudi Arabia, at Kashipur village in Bashikpur union of Lakshmipur Sadar upazila.

A group of 8 to 10 masked people shot a youth, who recently returned home from Saudi Arabia, at Kashipur village in Bashikpur union of Lakshmipur Sadar upazila on Saturday night.
The victim is Rubel Hossain.
Police and victim’s family said a group of masked people swooped on Rubel Hossain at night when he was sitting at a tea stall close to his house. They stabbed Rubel mercilessly and fired several shots to confirm his death. During this time, his left leg was shot.
Rubel was first admitted to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital and then sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in dying condition around 11 pm for better treatment.
Meanwhile, the masked people took away his motorcycle parked near the stall.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandraganj Police Station Mosleh Uddin said, “Who has carried out the attack on Rubel is yet to be identified. We are investigating the matter.”
