Alleged masternind of gang rape in Tangail moving bus held

Detective Branch (DB) of police have arrested Raja Miah, mastermind of the robbery and gang rape incident on a moving bus in Tangail's Madhupur that happened early Wednesday.
After the incident, police conducted drives at different places of the upazila and arrested Raja Miah from Bus Terminal area of the Tangail city on Wednesday night, the district's superintendent Sarker Mohammad Kaysar confirmed.
He said, "Raja use to live at a rented house in the city's Natun Bus Stand area. He is the driver of Dhaka-Tangail highway bus of 'Jhotika'. Police drive is on to nab the other culprits."
A case has been filed in connection with the incidents mentioning the name of 10 unknown persons.
In guise of passenger, a gang of robbers boarded on a bus of 'Eagle Paribahan' near Sirajganj which carrying 30-35 passengers. The bus was heading to Dhaka from Kushtia.
The gang looted cash, mobile phone sets and gold ornaments of the passengers and raped a woman by turns keeping them hostage for three hours.
Later, the gang fled away after overturning the moving bus in a sand pit near the Raktipara Jame Masjid at about 3:30am on Wednesday.
Being informed, Madhupur police rescued the passengers.
