The complainant has rejected the probe report submitted by Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) in the case filed against Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir and seven others over the alleged rape and murder of college student Munia in Dhaka's Gulshan area in April 2021.

Nusrat Jahan Tania, victim Mosharrat Jahan Munia's elder sister and also the complainant of the case, today filed a no-confidence petition with Women and Children Repression Prevention-8 of Dhaka.

In the petition, the complainant said the IO did not investigate the case properly. Judge Begum Mafroza Parvin of the tribunal fixed January 15 to record depositions of the complainant in the case.

On October 12 last year, Investigation Officer Golam Mukter Ashraf Uddin, Inspector of PBI, submit the probe report to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka.

In the probe report, the IO said he did not find any involvement of Anvir and other accused with the alleged rape and murder of the college girl.

The IO appealed to the tribunal to relieve Anvir and others from the charges of the case. Police recovered the body of the 21-year-old college student Munia in a Gulshan flat on April 26 of 2021. - Special Correspondent
