Housewife 'commits suicide' in Barguna

A housewife reportedly committed suicide at Betagi upazila in Barguna district on Tuesday night.



A housewife reportedly committed suicide at Betagi upazila in Barguna district on Tuesday night.
The dead was Laiju Begum, 32, wife of Swapan Mia, a resident of Uttar Mokamia area of the upazila.
According to police, the woman, a mother of four children, took poison on Saturday afternoon due to a feud with her mother-in-law.
Family members rescued her and took to Betagi Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor initially washed his stomach and sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Later, she died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Betagi Police Station officer-in-charge Anwar Hossain said the body has been sent to Barguna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
