Man arrested for allegedly killing wife in Kalapara.
Patuakhali: Police arrested husband Shah Alam (55) on the charge of killing a woman named Momtaz Begum (45), a mother of two children, due to a marital dispute in Kalapara of Patuakhali. He was arrested from his home in Musulliabad village of Latachapali union on Tuesday early morning. In this incident, the woman's elder brother Abul Hasem filed a case in the name of Shah Alam at Mohipur police station.
According to the case, Shah Alam killed the woman by covering her with a veil and throwing her in the pond of her house. Later the police went and recovered his body from the pond.
Earlier, Shah Alam tortured the woman several times due to marital disputes.
Khandoker Abul Khair, OC of Mohipur police station, said that the accused has been sent to the court. The body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem. - Gofran Biswas Palash
