The arrested is Mohon Khan, 40. He was arrested from Dhaka's Ashulia, Khandaker Al Moin, director of the legal and media wing of RAB.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, bus supervisor Md Faysal Mizan was arrested from Rajapur area of Jhalakathi.
On Saturday (July 22), 17 people were killed and 35 others injured after a Barishal-bound Bashar Smriti Paribahan bus plunged into a roadside pond in the Chhatrakanda area of Jhalakathi Sadar upazila.
The driver and supervisor fled soon after the incident.
It was learnt that driver Mohon was driving the bus at a recklessly high speed while arguing with passengers over the fare. He tried to overtake an autorickshaw but failed to do so and the vehicle fell into the pond.
The district administration also formed a five-member probe committee to investigate the accident.
