RAB arrests 3 for abduction, torture of NBR official
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested three people in a case filed over abduction and torture of a joint tax commissioner of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Masuma Khatun.
In separate drives, RAB members arrested main accused Md Masud alias Masun ,42, Md Abdul Jalil alias Panu ,48, and Md Hafiz alias Shahin ,48, from city's Sabujbag and Sripur of Gazipur, said RAB's law and mass media wing Commander Khandaker Al Maina at a press conference here today.
RAB recovered mobile phone set and laptop of joint tax commissioner of NBR Masuma Khatun from the arrestees.
Khandaker Al Maina said Masuma Khatun's ex-husband Harun-or-Rashid was involved in the abduction.
He said Harun-or-Rashid hired Masud, sacked driver of the tax commissioner, at Taka 70,000 for the abduction of Masuma Khatun.
Masud and his two associates abducted Masuma Khatun from city's Siddeshwari area on August 17.
