Youth chopped to death in Kalapara



Patuakhali: A youth named Saidur Sardar (35) was brutally chopped to death by hand and leg ties in Kalapara of Patuakhali. The incident took place in Madhya Tiakhali village of the upazila around 9:30 pm on Saturday (September 9). Based

on the news of the locals, the police after visiting the spot recovered the dead body and sent it to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. The deceased Saidur is the son of deceased Taiyab Ali Sardar of Madhya Tiakhali village. In this incident, Shahjalal, the brother of the victim, filed a murder case against the unknown accused on Sunday morning.

According to the police, unknown killers entered Saidur's house on the day and night of the incident, tied Saidur's hands and feet and brutally choped him. At that time, the locals came and rescued him unconscious from the floor of the second floor of his house. Later, when he was brought to the hospital for treatment, the doctor on duty declared him dead. The deceased Saidur had injury marks on his head and chest with sharp weapons.

On the other hand, on the same day night, the police recovered the body of Nargis Begum (23), a housewife, mother of one child, from Lemupara village of the upazila and sent it to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Deceased Nargis is daughter of Md. Anwar Hossain's and wife of Rajib. She has a one-and-a-half-year-old baby daughter.

According to the police, the deceased housewife has black spots on her neck. Without getting the post-mortem report, it cannot be said that it was suicide or murder. However, since the incident, the victim's husband is absconding.

Md. Ali Ahmed, OC of Kalapara Police Station, said that his 2nd wife Khadija Begum was present during the killing of Saidur in the Madhya Tiakhali  of the upazila. She was admitted to the hospital for treatment of a broken arm. She will be interrogated if she is fit.

Multiple police teams are on the ground to arrest the killers of Saidur's murder.

Ali Ahmed also said that the cause of death of housewife Nargis Begum is not yet known. However, her husband used to torture her after marriage. And her husband is absconding since the incident. A UD case has been filed in the police station in this incident. Further legal action will be taken after receiving the postmortem report. - Gofran Biswas Palash
