Human chain in Kalapara demands justice for cutting veins of businessman Halim Hawladar
Patuakhali: a human chain and procession was held in Kalapara of Patuakhali to demand justice in the case of amputation of the veins of a businessman named Halim Howladar (26).
Around 11 o'clock on Sunday, local traders organized this human chain and procession on the main road of the Alipur fish port market of the upazila.
Dr. Ansar Uddin Mollah, chairman of Latachapoli Union Parishad, Md. Siddiqur Rahman Biswas, President of Latachapli union Awamileague, Md. Sohraf Hossain, Secretary of Alipur Port Traders Association, Abdur Rahim, Headmaster of Khepupara Government Model Secondary School also spoke in the procession. The orators in the human chain and procession demanded exemplary punishment by bringing those involved in this incident under the law.
Earlier on last September 20 (Wednesday) around 9 pm, a group of 4/5 terrorists cut off the veins of Halim Howlader's hands and feet under the leadership of step uncle Shaheen Howlader in Alipur Bazar. Halim Howlader is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In this incident, Mahipur Thana Police conducted a raid and arrested three accused from a village of Mirzaganj Upazila of Patuakhali last Thursday. The remaining three accused are still
absconding.
Md. Ferdous Alam, OC of Mahipur police station, said that three people involved in the incident have been arrested. Efforts are on to arrest the rest. - UNB
