Miscreants have set three passenger buses on fire in the port city of Chattogram on Tuesday (October 31), the first day of three-day blockade programme announced by the main opposition BNP and Jamaat.

Three buses were set on fire at three separate places yesterday night and in the early hours of today.

On information, fires-fighters rushed to the spots and doused the blazes, said Abdul Razzak, deputy director of Chattogram fire service and civil defence department.

However, no casualties were reported in the fire.

Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were seen patrolling on Dhaka-Chattogram highway to ensure security.
