A bus and a mini truck were set ablaze in Chandgaon area of Chittagong early on Saturday night .



A bus and a mini truck were set ablaze in Chandgaon area of Chittagong early on Saturday night (November 18). Police claimed the two vehicles were burnt due to a mechanical fault technical glitch.

Md Abdur Razzak, deputy assistant director, of Agrabadh fire service said fire broke out in a running mini truck in Amanath Shah Bridge area around 8:00pm. Later, on information, fire servicemen rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

On the other hand, a passenger bus was torched in Bahaddarhat bus stand area around 9:00pm.

Karnaphuli police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahir Hossain said technical glitch was the reason behind the fire in mini truck. No one received injury in the incident.

Chandgaon police station OC Jahedul Kabir said the workers said that the fire originated from a battery connection in the bus. Investigation is underway in this regard.
