71 arrested in 24-hr anti-drug drive by DMP

DMP arrested 71 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs.



Dhaka, Jan 10 :  Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 71 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs while conducting anti-drug drives in different areas of the capital in the 24 hours till 6am on Monday. 

 During the drives, 3682 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 259 grams of heroin, 11.2 kg cannabis, 8 litres of locally made moonshine and 10 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from the possessions of the detainees. 

 As part of the DMP’s regular anti-drug drive, they raided areas under various police stations in the capital from Sunday 6am to 6am Monday. 

 A total of 53 cases have been registered with different police stations against the arrested people under the Narcotics Control Act, reports UNB.
