Customs intelligence recovered 14 gold bars in an abandoned stat at Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram on Friday morning.



Customs intelligence recovered 14 gold bars in an abandoned stat at Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram on Friday morning.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) revenue official Md Al Amin Pradhan said acting on a tip-off conducted a drive at No-2 Conveyor Belt area of the airport and found the gold bars of 24 carat in cigarette packets in an abandoned state at around 9.55am .

They suspected that the gold bars might have been brought by a flight of Air Arabia Airline G9-529.

The market price of the seized gold bars is worth Tk 1.40 crore, he added.
