Night guard hacked to death in Ukhiya Rohingya camp

A night guard was reportedly hacked to death over establishing dominance on Sunday night in Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar.

The victim Md Yasin, 35, son of Abdul Bari, a resident of C-1 Block of the same camp, was a night guard at a learning center run by an NGO in the camp for children.

According to police, On Sunday night, around 7-8 active members of ARSA hacked the night guard to death with sharp weapons and ran away while he was on duty at the learning center at night in the camp.

Ukhiya Police Station officer-in-charge Shamim Hossain said the body has been recovered and sent to morgue for autopsy with the help of the camp administration.

Since the incident, law enforcement forces of 8-APBN have been on the spot at Jamtali Rohingya camp, the OC added.
