Chattogram, Feb 13 – Member of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) on Tuesday arrested another accused in connection with the death of a former officer of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Mohammad Shahidullah under police custody in Chandgaon Police Station on October 3, last year. 

The arrestee was identified as Md Liton, 48. 

A team of PBI arrested Liton from Chawkbazar area of the city, said Inspector Elias Khan of Metropolitan PBI. 

Earlier, on December 25, PBI arrested Jashim, 37 from Bakolia area. 

Police arrested deputy director of ACC Shahidullah in a criminal case on October 3, last year. Later, he fell sick under police custody and was taken to Park View Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. 

Fouzia Anwar, wife of Shahidullah, filed a case against nine people including the then officer-in-charge of Chandgaon Police Station Khairul Islam, two assistant sub-inspectors Md Yusuf, Sohel Rana and inspector Md Mubinul Haque, with Chattogram Metropolitan Session Judge. - UNB
