Trader slaughtered in Gaibandha



Gaibandha, Mar 31 - A banana trader was slaughtered by some miscreants in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Lebu Miah, 45, son of Abul Hossain of Jarifpur Junglemara village under the same upazila.

Locals said three banana traders including Lebu came under the attack of the miscreants in Jibonpur area on Islampur-Phulpukuria road on their way home from a local bazar around 11 pm.

Though one of the traders managed to flee, the miscreants slaughtered Lebu Miah and stabbed another trader Shah Alam with sharp weapons, they said.

Gobindaganj police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamsul Alam Shah said on information, they recovered the body and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

A case was filed in this connection and legal action will be taken upon investigation, he added.-UNB
