4 remanded in a gang rape case in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur

A Dhaka court Monday placed four people on three-day remand each in a case filed over keeping a girl confined for 25 days in a Mohammadpur home and gang raping her repeatedly.

The four remanded accused people are- Sun, Himel, Roky and Salma Akhter alias Jhumur.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim of Dhaka CMM Court passed the order after police produced the four people before the court and pleaded to place them on seven-day remand each.

According to the case documents, the girl was kept confined in a flat in Nabinagar Housing of Mohammadpur area for 25 days, and gang raped by the accused repeatedly. They even filmed the gruesome crime. The victim was rescued by police as one person heard her scream and called national emergency service number 999.

The victim filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station on March 31. - Special Correspondent
