Husband arrested from Benapole for killing wife for dowry



Jashore, May 10 - A man was arrested for the murder of his wife by setting fire to her body for dowry in Jashore last month.

The prime suspect, Ibrahim Pradhania,38, was arrested from Benapole early Friday.

He had been hiding in the Benapole area.

The incident, which occurred on the night of April 10 in Chandpur, involved physical torture of the wife, Khadija Aktar, resulting in her death.

The woman died on 12 April, two days after the incident, while receiving treatment.

The husband had been applying pressure on his wife and in-laws for dowry, leading to frequent domestic disputes.

The woman's father filed a case after the incident.-UNB
