Jubo League leader hacked to death in Khulna



Khulna, July 09 - A Jubo League leader was hacked to death by miscreants at the Lohar Gate in East Baniakhamar in Khulna on Monday night.

The deceased, Al Amin (45), was the former joint convener of Ward-27 Jubo League.

Mohammad Kamal Khan, officer-in-charge of Khulna Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident. 

Eyewitnesses said that around 10 pm on Monday, some men attacked Al Amin with machetes while he was sitting in Mamun's garage at East Baniakhamar.

Later, locals took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police have detained Tayebur Rahman Mamun, the owner of Lohar Gate garage, in connection with the murder.

"We visited the spot upon receiving the news. Al Amin had 10 cases filed against him in various police stations," added the OC.-UNB
