Ex-PM Sheikh Hasina, 24 others sued for student Rajon murder

One more murder case has been filed against deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 24 others for the killing of Faizul Islam Rajon, a student of Dhaka Model Degree College in the capital’s Kafrul area on July 19.

Followed by an application made by the victim’s brother, Dhaka’s Metropolitan Magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir ordered Kafrul Police Station to register the case as a First Information Report (FIR).

According to the application, Rajon, an 18-year old student was killed while police randomly fired at the peaceful protest rally carried out by students on July 19, near Mirpur-10 intersection area.

During the firing, many other protesters died, it added.

Former ministers Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Anisul Haque, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Hasan Mahmud, former State Minister Mohammad Ali Arafat, former Advisor of the ousted government Salman Fazlur Rahman, former DB Chief Harun-ar Rashid, former IGP Benazir Ahmed including other Awami League leaders were made accused in the case.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, an abduction case was filed by Lawyer Sohel Rana against Sheikh Hasina, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and three others.

Earlier on Tuesday, a similar murder case was filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and six others, for the alleged killing of a grocery store owner named Abu Sayeed in the city’s Mohammadpur area. - UNB
