Fake Army officer three others held in Patuakhali.

Patuakhali: Fake army major three others have been arrested in Patuakhali. They were detained from the temporary army camp of Patuakhali District Children's Academy last Friday night.

Those arrested are, Md. Salah Uddin Ahmed, Abdullah Al Mamun, Khan Rezaul Karim, Md. Jasim Howlader. The houses of the first three of them are in different areas of Patuakhali and Jasim Uddin's house is in Bakerganj Upazila of Barisal district.

Md. Saif, Major of Patuakhali Army Camp, said that Salah Uddin came in front of the camp in a private car of white colour on Friday night and wanted to meet the higher authorities by introducing himself as a retired Major. At that time, as he seemed incoherent in his conversation, I arranged for them to enter the camp along with the car, and informed Colonel Mohsin Sir about the matter. Later, in front of Colonel Mohsin Sir, Salahuddin introduced himself as a retired major officer of No. 19 Force.

Major Saif also said that at some point of investigation, it was confirmed that he had actually given a false identity. Later, when he was extensively interrogated, he confessed himself to be a fake major. Those who were with him also at one point admitted themselves as members of the fake gold army.

According to army sources, four of them were staying in Patuakhali with that private car for the last one week. However, they were handed over to Patuakhali Sadar police station at night after extensive interrogation about where they went or what they did and why they gave their identity.
