News Desk Crime 2022-03-09, 1:33pm

Three policemen have been suspended for negligence in duty in Habiganj.

Three policemen have been suspended for negligence in duty after a drug peddler escaped from their custody in Habiganj, senior officials said on Wednesday.

The punitive action has been taken against sub-inspector Subhro, and two constables -- Jashim and Ashique Nur -- posted at Habiganj Sadar Police Station. They have been attached to the District Police Lines.

"The drug peddler in question escaped from their custody, which is sheer negligence on their part. A probe is on," said SM Murad Ali, superintendent of Habiganj Police.

Mashuk Ali, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station, said that further action would be initiated against the three after the probe.
