According to locals, Shariful Islam returned home from Dhaka on Friday night bringing Eid gifts for his second wife Khirsha Begum and taking two apples with him to meet his first wife Ruliara Begum.

Upon seeing this, Ruliara Begum got furious and an altercation began with Shariful.

At one stage, Shariful, along with his second wife Khirsha Begum and his brother Razzak beat Ruliara Begum to death and hung her body from a mango tree behind their house, said neighbours, reports UNB.
