Youth stabbed to death in Gazipur

A young man was stabbed to death at Mawna intersection in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur district early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Jewel of Haluaghat upazila in Mymensingh district.

Quoting witnesses, Mohammad Abdul Barik, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station, said Jewel had an altercation with some young men over sleeping near a tea stall under the flyover of Mawna intersection around 3 am.

At one stage, someone hit Jewel with a sharp weapon, leaving him injured.

Later, he was taken to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead, reports UNB.

Police also arrested two people-Rakib, 25 and Robin, 27 from the spot.

All the youths were involved in different criminal activities in the area, said the OC.
