Youth beaten to death over Tk 1500

A 25-year old youth was hacked to death, over a dispute centring BDT 1,500, at the national park of Sylhet on Tuesday evening.


The deceased was identified as Azadur Rahman, son of Abdul Jalil who is a resident of Binnakandi village of Goainghat upazila.

According to a witness, Azadur was hacked to death with a sharp weapon around at 7:30pm by Delwar aka Dhanda and his associates.

Locals rushed him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him to be dead.

Another youth accompanying Azadur was critically injured whose identity could not be confirmed yet.

Anisur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge of Sylhet Airport Police Station, confirmed that the murder was connected to some sort of financial dealings and efforts were underway to arrest those involved, reports UNB.
