Two schoolboys injured in Jatrabari stabbing attack

Dhaka, Oct 23 - Two schoolboys were seriously injured in a stabbing attack by unidentified assailants in Jatrabari, Dhaka, on Thursday evening.

One of the victims is in critical condition.

The incident occurred around 6pm in Lane No. 1 near the WAPDA Kalyani Power Plant area of Jatrabari.

The injured students, Niyaz Ahmed, 16, of Shonir Akhra AK School and College, and Anas Ahmed, 14, of Dholai Para South Point School and College, were rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Niyaz Ahmed said that a group of 30-35 unidentified men suddenly attacked them in front of the power plant lane, stabbing them before fleeing.

“We do not know why they attacked us,” he said.

Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the hospital police camp, confirmed that the students were admitted to the emergency department and said they have informed the local station about the attack. - UNB
