The Pakshi Divisional Railway Office of Bangladesh Railway (BR) has summoned Shafiqul Islam, a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) who was suspended on Thursday for fining three ticketless passengers.
Shafiqul Islam himself confirmed this to risingbd around 11.00am on Saturday.
Earlier, the TTE was suspended on charge of being rude to three passengers who were fined for travelling without tickets despite introducing themselves as relatives of Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan. But the TTE refused the allegation.
Nasir Uddin, Pakshi divisional railway commercial officer of Ishwardi, said the suspension order of TTE Shafiqul Islam was implemented on Friday.
According to railway sources, three passengers boarded Sundarbans Express train from Ishwardi railway junction station on Thursday and were going to Dhaka in an AC cabin without tickets.
When, TTE Shafiqul Islam, who was on duty at the time, wanted to see their tickets, they introduced themselves as relatives of the minister.
The TTE then fined and gave the three tickets for regular seats in a non-AC coach. The passengers had to pay around Tk 1,050 in total. Later, the trio filed a complaint against the TTE in Dhaka.
After receiving the complaint, Pakshi divisional railway commercial officer Nasir Uddin suspended him.
