A 30-year-old man named Akash Das was stabbed to death while trying to stop a quarrel between two groups in the Pahartali area of the city last night.

Akash, who worked at a polythene factory in the stadium area, was the son of Babul Das from Dohapara, South Katrali.

The incident took place near Bitak Stadium around 9 pm on Thursday, said Pahartali thana OC Nurul Absar today.

He said, Akash tried to intervene when a brawl between two local youths Raihan and Nazmul Michael turned violent.

With critical stab injuries Akash was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him deam, reports BSS.

OC Nurul Absar said police are actively searching for the perpetrators.
