Dhaka, 22 Dec - Popular singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has expressed his desire to contribute to the cultural development of Bangladesh.
He shared his interest during a meeting with Md. Nahid Islam, Adviser for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, at the Secretariat on Sunday.
Khan also thanked the interim government of Bangladesh for inviting him to the country.
Adviser Nahid Islam praised Rahat Fateh Ali Khan as a talented artist, acknowledging him as a treasure not only for Pakistan but for the entire music world, including the subcontinent.
He highlighted Khan's large fanbase in Bangladesh and expressed gratitude for the singer’s recent concert at the Army Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.
The adviser emphasized the significance of organizing such concerts, particularly after the July Uprising.
The meeting was also attended by Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mohammad Wasif, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Department Dr. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Mahbuba Farzana, and other officials.
