Shubhojon Turns 14, Embracing Dreams and Humanity

Shuvojon organisers and members were cutting a cake at a function on Sunday to mark its 14th birth anniversary.



Shubhojon, a social and cultural organisation committed to promoting humanity and harmony, celebrated its 14th birthday on Sunday in a festive manner. The event, with the organisation's theme “We Want Humane People,” brought together artists and cultural activists dedicated to fostering peace and compassion by rejecting inhumanity, hatred, and conflict.

The celebration was held at the office of Ajker Times in Jatrabari, Dhaka, featuring a friendly gathering, cultural performances, and cake-cutting.

Distinguished guests included lyricist and organisational adviser M.R. Monju, senior journalist and Shubhojon adviser Rafiqul Islam Azad, human rights activist Lion H.M. Ibrahim Bhuiyan, acting editor of Ajker Times Md Sujon Mia, and managing editor Muhammad Ashraf Uddin.

The programme was presided over by poet and singer Shamima Nasrin, senior vice-president of Shubhojon, and conducted by its founder and reciter Tarun Russel. The event began with a Quran recitation by journalist Rakib Hossain Milon.

Speakers praised Shubhojon’s long journey, describing its members as those who stand beside humanity in times of crisis, guide people towards light, and dedicate themselves to serving the nation. They expressed hope that the organisation would continue its noble journey for centuries to come.

General Secretary and journalist Nasir Uddin Shah delivered the welcome speech, while founding coordinator journalist Alidur Rahman Oli, poet Anta Nur Haque, advocate Imran Khan, journalist Taki Mohammad Jubair, writer Dhali Moniruzzaman, lyricist S.M. Shafi, and poet Nurun Newaz Rana also spoke.

The cultural segment featured songs by Mahatab Uddin and Shamima Nasrin, and poetry recitations by Irene Khanam, Jerin Hafsa, and Sheikh Nasir Uddin, adding vibrancy to the anniversary celebration.
