Woman ‘kills self’ at Dhaka’s Kalabagan

A 21-year-old housewife allegedly killed herself at her residence in Kalabagan area of Dhaka on Tuesday night.


The deceased was identified as Tasnufa Tabassum Mim, wife of Md Jamiul Haque Faruk and daughter of Mokhlesur Rahman from Akubdandi Sharifpara village in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram district.

Tasnufa, mother of a seven month-old daughter, used to live with her husband at a rented house on the third floor of a house on Lake Circus Road in the area.

Quoting family members, sub-inspector of Kalabagan Police Station Nandan Kumar Das said the victim went to her room and hanged herself following an argument with her husband on Tuesday night, reports UNB. 

Family members found her unconscious and rushed her to a nearby hospital first and then to Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) where she was declared dead, he said.

The body was kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy, the SI said adding that legal action will be taken.
