Cox's Bazar Express earns Tk1.38 crore within 27 days

Bangladesh Railway has earned Tk 1 crore 38 lakh 20 thousand from the 'Cox's Bazar Express' train within 27 days of its journey.

Golam Rabbani, station master in charge of Cox's Bazar iconic railway station, confirmed the matter  recently

He said that in the first month (27 days) 28 thousand 620 AC and non-AC tickets were sold online and offline in Cox's Bazar Express. The income from the sale of this ticket is 1 crore 38 lakh 20 thousand taka.

He also said that 2 lakh people buy tickets online every day. However, seats are less than the demand of passengers. So two new trains are scheduled to be connected to this line from January 1.

Incidentally, the maximum speed limit of passenger trains on the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route has been fixed at 120 kilometers per hour. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered two trains to run from December during the inauguration of the Cox's Bazar rail link on November 11 after the successful operation of several rounds of experimental trains.

According to railway sources, the new train of Cox's Bazar Express has a total of 20 coaches. There are 1 thousand 60 seats. The fare of Sovon chair from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar is fixed at Tk 695. AC chair rent is 1 thousand 325 taka and rent of AC berth (sleeping seat) is 2 thousand 380 taka. Apart from this, from Chattogram to Cox's Bazar, the fare of Sovon chair is Tk 205, the fare of Snigdha class is Tk 386, the fare of AC seat is Tk 466 and the fare of AC berth is Tk 696.
