Workshop on Safe & Just Operating Space for Achieving SDGs held at BUP



Dhaka, 05 February: The Department of Environmental Science of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), in collaboration with the University of Glasgow, hosted an impactful seminar and workshop today on ‘Safe and Just Operating Space (SJOS) for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh.’

The purpose of the seminar and workshop was to highlight the importance of creating a sustainable and equitable framework for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh, addressing both environmental and social challenges. The event brought together leading academics, researchers and policy makers to discuss and delve deeper into the strategies and solutions that can help Bangladesh to create a safe and just operating space to achieve the SDGs. The event was an opportunity for participants to engage in collaborative learning, sharing ideas, and to build networks for driving change.

Experts from the University of Glasgow, Professor Md Sarwar Hossain and Mohammad Ali Nause Russel and Former Director of the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Saiful Islam were present as panel speakers in the programme. Director General of the Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) of Bangladesh Dr. Mohammad Abdul Latif was present as the Special Guest of the program.
