The European Union (EU) is set to support over 70,000 people with disabilities in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh and Netrokona districts under a newly launched initiative.

The assistance will be delivered through a project based at the Protibondhi Community Centre (PCC) in Mymensingh. The initiative aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and promote their rights and inclusion in society.

“The EU stands for inclusion, diversity, and the rights of people with disabilities in Europe and in our partner countries,” said the EU delegation in Dhaka.

Beyond direct support, the project will focus on strengthening the capacity of civil society organisations to engage in advocacy and policy dialogue. Special emphasis will be placed on promoting human rights and a safe, inclusive environment for people with disabilities and ethnic communities.
