Dhaka – An unbeaten knock of 162 runs by Shadman Islam guided Dhaka Metro to 357 for 4 in 90 overs in the 4th round Tier-2 match of the National Cricket League (NCL) against Chattogram Division on the 1st day at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday.
In another match, veteran spinner Abdur Razzak reached a landmark in Bangladesh cricket completing 600 First-class wickets grabbing seven wickets for Khulna against Rangpur at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Pacer Ebadat Hossain grabbed five wickets for Sylhet against Barishal on the day at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar
Winning the toss, Dhaka Metro piled up a comfortable total against the Tier-2 league leader Chattogram Division, featuring three good partnerships, led by opener Shadman Islam, who was called for Bangladesh Test squad for India series.
Shadman Islam pairing with Shamsur Rahman contributed 97 runs in the 2nd wicket stand, scored 80 runs in the 3rd wicket partnership with Marshall Ayub and piled up 162 runs with Al Amin in the 4th wicket stand.
Shadman Islam hammered an unbeaten 162 runs facing 257 balls featuring 21 fours and two sixes, number five Al Amin scored 110-ball 83 runs hitting 11 fours and two sixes, one down Shamsur Rahman contributed 50 off 79 balls with eight fours while two down Marshall Ayub made 71-ball 40 runs with six fours.
Hasan Mahmud bagged two wickets for 65 runs while Mehedi Hasan Rana and Nayeem Hasan took one wicket each.

Khulna Division vs Rangpur Divison:
Tier-1 league leader Khulna Division won the toss and opted to field first. Their decision proved to be a good move as they wrapped up Rangpur for 224 all-out in 81.1 overs.
Tail-ender batsman Rishad Hossain scored highest 42 runs for Rangpur playing 32 balls hitting five big sixes. Nasir Hossain scored 40 while number-three batsman Sohrawordi Shuvo posted 34 runs only.
Razzak took seven wickets conceding 69 runs in 21.1 overs. It was his 39th five-for in the First-class cricket, which is a national record.
In reply, Khulna scored 24 for 4 in 9 overs at the end of day-1. Anamul Haque (14) veteran Tushar Imran (1) remained unbeaten on the crease.
Robiul Haque bagged two wickets for Rangpur.

Rajshahi Division vs Dhaka Division: Rajshahi won the toss in the other Tier-1 match against Dhaka Division and opted to bat first at academy ground of the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
Rajshahi Division were bundled out for 230 runs 86.1 overs. Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Muktar Ali hit 56 runs each while Sunzamul Islam posted 49.
Sumon Khan and Shuvagata Hom took three wickets each for Dhaka conceding 43 and 57 runs respectively while Jubair Hossain bagged two wickets conceding 58 runs.
In reply, Dhaka opened the first innings and failed to add any run in one over without losing any wicket.

Barishal Divison vs Sylhet Division:
In the tier-2 match, Barishal tumbled for only 162 in 57.1 overs in the first innings after winning the toss against Sylhet Division at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
Nuruzzaman scored 40, Salman Hossain 25 and Shohag Gazi posted 23 for Barishal.
Barishal were clueless to face the fiery pace-bowling of Ebadat Hossain. The right-arm pacer bagged five wickets conceding 36 runs in 16 overs. Nasum Ahmed took three wickets.
In reply, Sylhet scored 82 for 1 in 32 overs at the end of day-1. Shanaj Ahmed and Enamul Haque Jr remained unbeaten on 32 and 2 respectively.
