India Keen to Deepen Ties With Bangladesh: Pranay Verma

Outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma has reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening multifaceted engagement with Bangladesh, aimed at mutual benefit and shared prosperity for the people of both countries.

He made the remarks during a farewell call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday, where they briefly discussed potential areas of cooperation aligned with the development priorities of both nations.

According to officials, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Verma’s contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and conveyed best wishes for his future assignment.

The meeting took place in the afternoon at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Cabinet Division in the Bangladesh Secretariat.

Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman was also present during the meeting.

Diplomatic sources said the discussion reflected continued interest from both sides in expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, development, and connectivity.
