Bangladesh has welcomed the finalization of a peace agreement between the United States (US) and Iran, expressing hope that the deal will help restore regional stability and strengthen peace, security and development.

"Bangladesh has consistently been calling for de-escalation and resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy and appreciates the efforts of all parties and facilitators that contributed to this positive development," said a foreign ministry's statement here today,

Bangladesh expressed hope that the agreement would be implemented in good faith and proves durable and sustainable.

The foreign ministry said that peace and stability in the Middle East are vital for regional and global peace, security and development.

Dhaka encourages all parties to build on the momentum created by the agreement to address outstanding issues through dialogue and diplomacy, said the statement.
