
BEIJING, June 26: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday laid a wreath at the monument in Beijing's historic Tiananmen Square, paying tribute to China's revolutionary heroes.
The wreath-laying ceremony took place at 9:15 am local time, during which the Prime Minister honoured the memory of the Chinese martyrs.
The national anthems of Bangladesh and China were played, followed by the sounding of a bugle as a mark of respect.
After laying the wreath, the Prime Minister stood in silent tribute for a few moments to pay his profound respects to the memory of China's revolutionary heroes.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman; Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman; Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan; Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie; Prime Minister's Economic Adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir; Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir; Adviser on Education, Primary and Mass Education, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and Labour and Employment Mahdi Amin; and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
