Bangladesh Speaker to join Khameni’s funeral in Tehran

Bangladesh Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad is scheduled to join the state funeral of late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran.


Speaker Hafiz Uddin is likely to be in Tehran on July 3 at the invitation of Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, a diplomatic source told UNB.

In his invitation letter to his Bangladeshi counterpart, the Iranian Speaker wrote: "I cordially invite you to join us so that we may host you in this historic and magnificent ceremony."

The funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei will begin in Tehran on ⁠July 4, and he will be buried in his home town of Mashhad on July 9, according to Iranian state media.
