US envoy sees positive momentum in Bangladesh ties

US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Ambassador Sergio Gor met with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman.



US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Ambassador Sergio Gor has expressed optimism about the future of US-Bangladesh relations following his first official visit to Bangladesh.

“It was great to meet Foreign Minister Khalil Rahman during my first visit to Bangladesh and discuss working together to strengthen the U.S.-Bangladesh relationship. Lots of positive developments,” Gor wrote in a post on X after the meeting.

During his visit, the US envoy held talks with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman as part of efforts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

His remarks came after discussions between the two sides on advancing the Bangladesh-US partnership, reflecting a positive outlook for expanding engagement in areas of mutual interest. -BSS
