Visiting US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon on Saturday morning.

The meeting began at 9:30am, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony said.

He said details of the discussions, including the key issues raised during the meeting, would be disclosed later.

Sergio Gor arrived in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon on a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral engagement between Bangladesh and the United States.

During the visit, the US envoy held talks with Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman on Thursday evening. On Friday, he travelled to Cox's Bazar, where he visited the Rohingya camps to assess the humanitarian situation.

The visit comes as Bangladesh and the United States continue to engage on regional security, humanitarian assistance, the Rohingya crisis and broader bilateral cooperation.
