PM, IPI president discuss peace, security, multilateral ties

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and President and CEO of the International Peace Institute (IPI) Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein today discussed international peace and security, multilateral cooperation and ways to address contemporary global challenges.
The Prime Minister held a lunch meeting with the IPI president at the Hyatt Grand Central this afternoon (New York time), said Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary KM Nazmul Haque.
The meeting was held as part of the Prime Minister’s engagements on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The two sides also discussed the importance of strengthening peace, dialogue and cooperation between Bangladesh and the international community.
They also exchanged views on making the UN-centred multilateral system more effective and inclusive, reports BSS.
