Tarique Shares Photo With Trump From New York Dinner

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday shared a photo of himself and his wife, Dr Zubaida Rahman, with US President Donald Trump from a dinner hosted by Trump for world leaders attending the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Tarique shared the photo on his Facebook page after it was released by the White House. The photo shows the prime minister and Dr Zubaida Rahman with President Trump.

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the dinner on September 22 at the Lotte New York Palace hotel in New York for heads of state and government attending the UNGA and their spouses.

Tarique and Dr Zubaida attended the dinner along with other world leaders and their spouses.

Earlier that day, the prime minister and his wife attended a breakfast hosted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres for heads of state and government and their spouses.

The White House also released a photo showing Dr Zubaida Rahman with US First Lady Melania Trump during a special meeting of spouses of heads of state and government held on the sidelines of the UNGA.

During the meeting, Melania Trump unveiled her global child-welfare initiative, “Fostering the Future Together”, and invited first ladies from other countries to join the initiative.

Tarique travelled to New York on September 21 to attend the 81st session of the UNGA and delivered his maiden address to the General Assembly on September 24.

He returned to Bangladesh on September 27 after concluding his five-day visit to the United States.
